Impossible Markets Conference – A Great Start to an Annual Conference
“That is impossible. It cannot work.”
Those are some of the words we hear often recently and they were inspiration for the title of the Impossible Markets conference, which took place on May 22-23, 2014, in Sofia, Bulgaria.
In an increasingly globalized and interconnected world, words like “impossible” or “too difficult” need to be overcome in order to find a solution that can work. Bulgaria is a good example of where many opportunities exist, international business is rapidly incr
easing, and much can be learned about working in a cross-cultural environment.
The event included presentations on topics such as: Negotiating acrosscultures; Immersion into Bulgarian markets and transcending global borders; Doing business with people not in the same room, and much more. The focus was not only the learning element but the practical element to ensure that the topics discussed could be implemented.
A dinner was included with the terrific Vasko Parmakov jazz trio which made for a nice evening following a busy day, which also was a good opportunity for participants to interact with each other. The final day included workshops with again a very practical focus.
